In the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy, many people are looking for answers. The following infographics show the impact of traumatic events on the human mind and body.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can be found in people who have experienced a stressful event. Examples of stressful events: natural disasters, school shootings, physical/emotional/sexual abuse, and war.
As veterans return home from the Middle East, many families are struggle with the effects of PTSD. The Veteran’s Administration has put a lot of resources studying and treating the disorder. The following PTSD infographics are based on current research conducted by the Veteran’s Administration.

Feelings of anxiety can be heightened after experiencing a traumatic event. Children with a stress/anxiety disorder are typically more sensitive to traumatic events than children who have not been diagnosed.

  1. Thank you for helping to raise awareness about PTSD and the impact it can have on our veterans by posting USC’s “What is PTSD?” Infographic.

    One question I had: I noticed there isn’t a link to the online program’s website — do you think it would be possible to add that in (just in case someone is interested after reading the article)?
